Skin Cancer Diagnosis and Removal

Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer, accounting for at least 40% of all cancer diagnoses.  Basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma are the most common types.  Dr. Tedesco is highly skilled at not only fully removing the cancer with the smallest wound possible, but also in reconstructing the resulting defect.  He uses a pathologist to check under the microscope at the time of the removal surgery to ensure all the cancer cells are out.  He is especially skilled at reconstructing areas of the face, so they heal with minimal noticeable scar.  He can even reconstruct defects from other surgeons or fix scars that have been left by skin cancer surgery.
